The study examines theoretical approaches to the definition of the concept “sphere of culture”. It is noted that, at present, establishing a univocal definition of this concept presents substantial difficulties – first, due to its pervasive usage in social practice, wherein each researcher, in applying the term within their own scholarly activity, inevitably contributes to its semantic elaboration; second, because each scholar employs the concept within the framework of their specific research objectives, drawing upon individual conceptions of its conceptual scope. Particular attention is paid to the assertion that the sphere of culture constitutes an indispensable and equi-constitutive component of the unified system of human life-sustenance, emerging historically through the dynamic interaction of social actors as they fulfill their respective material, symbolic, and normative needs. Conclusion dwells upon the fact that the sphere of culture may be conceptualized as a sociocommunicative system of interaction among social agents, structured by shared practices, symbolic codes, and institutionalized forms of meaning production.
