Sheikh Mansour as a charismatic figure: sociological aspect

This paper is the first attempt at a sociological analysis of Sheikh Mansour’s personality through the prism of Max Weber’s concept of charismatic leadership. The author consistently analyzes the most important components of the definition of charismatic leadership and their correspondence to the personality of Sheikh Mansour. In addition to the theoretical analysis, the article presents the results of a specific sociological study conducted among representatives of the Chechen ethnic group. Based on the data obtained, it is concluded that Sheikh Mansur’s position as a national leader during a specific period of the ethnic group’s historical development was stable. In the hierarchy of the most significant historical events, Sheikh Mansur’s movement ranks third among contemporary Chechens, indicating the recognition of Mansur’s unique personality and the consolidating significance of the movement he led.
