School expedition routes as a direction of additional education for children (using the example of searching for the mammoth fauna on Aldan river)

The paper is devoted to the problem of the content of additional education of schoolchildren in the context of developing optimal approaches to the organization of study, education and development. The organization of recreation, health and employment of children during the holiday period, development of ecological culture in the environmental activities of the students are important areas of state social policy. School expeditions are a format that allows to combine these elements together. The purpose of the work is an analysis of experimental educational practitioners activities in organizing and conducting school paleontology expedition in the summer in permafrost. The authors described some forms and methods of educating young tourists in the extreme conditions of the North, identified methodological approaches to the organization of search activities of schoolchildren. The structure of the pedagogical process implemented during the search and research paleontological expedition is presented. Long-term pedagogical experience is summarized, and the results of research practice related to the extensive material on the search for traces of mammoth fauna on the nearby natural-geological incisions of the Aldan River, made by biology teacher, the chief of the eco-paleontological camp of schoolchildren “Biven” of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) P.D. Maksimov are implemented.
