Innovations in general education: from project learning to educational skills

The paper describes the development of project-technological culture of schoolchildren by means of the competence-based approach. The retrospective analysis of the project teaching and correlation of basic ideas with modern pedagogical practice are given. Leading scientists in Pedagogy concentrated their research efforts on the idea of combining the aspects of upbringing (labour, pragmatic, collective and aesthetic education) into one, which improves the socialization of schoolchildren. Russia is not an exception as modern pedagogical ideas of general education are aimed to form a set of didactic skills, including soft study skills divided by the Federal state standard into regulative, cognitive and communicative skills.
