In recent years, the prolonged QT interval syndrome attracts close attention of modern medicine. The prolonged QT interval syndrome is a dangerous type of arrhythmia, increasing the risk of fatal ventricular arrhythmia and ventricular fibrillation. Normally, the QT interval is 340-450 ms for women and 340-430 ms for men and reflects the repolarization time of the ventricles. There are congenital and acquired forms of this pathology, which often lead to the development of sudden cardiac death. Timely detection of the prolonged QT interval syndromemakes it possible to identify individuals with an increased risk of developing this condition, which can reduce the proportion of subsequent sudden cardiac death.
