Syncretism of ritual and spell's text in the Anglo-Saxon charms

The charms relating to a small folklore genre have both the general traits of the folkloric texts and syncretism. The syncretic character of the charms depends on the archaic character of their origin and the peculiarities of the primitive mythological way of thinking. There are described the different models of the formation of the Anglo-Saxon charms demonstrating the syncretic character of the folkloric texts independent of the structure of its formation.
