2-Alkenylthio-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine and 2 propargylthio-4,6-dimethylpyrimidine were synthesized by the interaction between 4,6-dimethyl-2-pyrimidinone hydrochloride and alkenyl halides and propargylbromide, respectively, in the presence of potassiumhydroxide. Main mass fragmentations routs for S-derivatives of 4,6-dimethyl-2-pyrimidinonewere revealed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis.
