Synthesis and structure of triarylantimony oxosulfonates and tris-(5-bromo-2-methoxyphenyl)antimony bis-(3,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonate)

In the interaction of triarylantimony with sulfonic acid in the presence of tert-butylhydroperoxide (1:1:1 mol) tri(para-tolyl)antimony µ-oxo-bis-(trifluoromethanesulfonate) (1), triphenylantimony µ-oxo-bis-(3,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonate) (2), tris-(4-fluorophenylantimony) µ-oxo-bis-(3,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonate) (3) and tris-(3-fluorophenylantimony) µ-oxo-bis-(trifluoromethanesulfonate) (4) were synthesized. In the reaction between tris-(5-bromo-2-methoxyphenyl)antimony, 3,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonic acid and tert-butylhydroperoxide (1:2:1 mol) tris-(5-bromine-2-methoxyphenyl)antimony bis-(3,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonate) was synthesized. Crystalline and molecular structures of 1, 2 and 5 were studied.
