Synthesis of methodology for implementation of modern Russian translation of books of the Holy Scripture of the New Testament (on the example of already realized by us translations)

This article is devoted to the problems of creating a new Church-wide Orthodox translation of the Holy Scriptures. The starting point for creating of the translation expected by everyone will be a synthesis of translation methodology, which not only includes modern scientific principles and methods of translation, but also correlates with the Sacred Tradition of the Church. Unfortunately, numerous modern translations made by non-Orthodox translators are deprived of this. This article is about creating a methodology of translation of New Testament books only, since the translation of the books of the Old Testament is fraught with additional textual problems beyond the scope of this study. Our proposed synthesis of methodology is carried out not only theoretically, but also on the basis of the translations of books of the New Testament already carried out by the author.
