The article in the introduction gives a brief story about the teachers of dogmatics at the Faculty of Theology of University of Athens in the 19th century. Next, the main part reviews the first volume of the textbook on dogmatic theology, published by Professor Zikos Rosis in 1903, based on the lectures he gave. This was the first Greek university textbook on dogmatics, which, however, was published in only one volume and remained unfinished. Its peculiarity was its rational-apologetic orientation, based primarily on the works of German theologians and philosophers of the 19th century. In this regard, it can be seen as being at the intersection of dogmatic and fundamental theology. In his work, Z. Rosis tried to explain to the educated reader the complete agreement of Orthodox teaching with the data of the natural sciences and the best achievements of ancient and modern philosophy. Critical comments of other Greek theologians on the opinions expressed in the “System of Dogmatics” are given. Also, based on other works of Z. Rosis, his dogmatic views, which were not included in the main work, are briefly described. “Dogmatics of the Orthodox Eastern Church” by Ch. Androutsos, published in 1907, turned out to be more convenient for teaching Orthodox theology and therefore quickly enough replaced the work of Z. Rosis, which gradually turned into a bibliographic rarity.
