Having faced a specific problem of training high school students for the final composition, language and literature teachers became convinced once again that they were a hundred times right warning about the danger of reducing the course of literature at school to unobliging "talks about books that have been read". It makes no sense to demand from a school leaver good results and an ability to produce a publicistic text on the basis of their knowledge of school program if literature syllabus does not provide for certain amount of time that is required for formation of relevant skills and abilities. A student can be taught to produce creative texts only in the time-consuming process of attentive reading and careful analysis of the works of Russian literature. The article looks at the problems of training students for writing of the final composition in literature. Various approaches to training students, as well as a system of tasks in training and producing of individual creative text are suggested.
