This article describes a basic principle of the man-machine system representing the holistic formation of interrelated elements, quantitatively described by the real object model. The analysis of the prerequisites forming a cause and effect chain of incidents is given and consistent patterns of emergence of dangerous technogenic events in electrical installations are determined in the research. There is a logical chain of dangerous events that characterize human electrocution, fire occurrence and other technogenic situations. It presents methodological bases of electrical installations ’ technological safety, which are based on power entropy concept that does not contradict the fundamental laws of entropy. The basic principles of the existence of man-machine system («man- electrical installation-environment») summarize the main provisions of technogenic safety of installations. It is shown that the security of the system "man-electrical installation-environment" should be regarded as a property to maintain such a state when it operaties with high probability which is eliminating the negative incidents.
