The article represents a comparative analysis of the psychological conceptions of two systemic and practical oriented approaches to personality presented in domestic and foreign practical psychology, namely V. N. Myasishchev and A. Beck. In the course of the analysis, the key concepts of the two approaches are compared, such as “relationships” in the works of V. N. Myasishchev and “schemes” in the cognitive psychotherapy of A. Beck. The main ideas regarding the emergence of personality pathology and psychotherapeutic work with it are analyzed. Based on the results of the comparison, an assumption is made about possible ways of further joint development of the two studied approaches in psychology and psychotherapy.
