This article discusses the existing local positioning technologies that can be applied to solving the problem of determining the coordinates of a mobile milling platform on a wheelbase. The basic principles of the positioning systems of various technologies are described. The advantage of using ultrasonic positioning systems in comparison with other technologies is explained.
