The situation in the region according to the estimates of its residents (based on the results of a sociological study in the Astrakhan region)

This present research analyzes the opinion of the population about the situation in the region. Local residents' assessment of the state of affairs in a particular territory is an important indicator of the quality of life of its citizens and the basis for forecasting the social development of a particular subject of the Russian Federation and the country's internal policy as a whole. The results of a sociological study conducted based on a representative sample in the Astrakhan region are described. The article considers the viewpoints of Astrakhan residents on the main aspects of local life, as well as in comparison with other regions. Most residents of the Astrakhan region are proud of their small motherland, but they assess the current situation negatively, first of all, the local economy. There are identified dependencies on other indicators, such as age, the fact of being born in the region, the type of territorial identity, personal migration intentions.
