The role of situational approach in revealing the practical potential of a foreign language as an academic discipline

This article substantiates the relevance of using the techniques of situational modeling technology, characterizes the principle of situativeness as one of the main ones when using a communication-oriented approach. The signs of speaking as a type of speech activity are presented, which are emphasized during classes in the situation modeling system. The role of the situational approach in revealing the practical potential of a foreign language as an academic discipline is shown. The article provides examples of the use of methods and techniques of simulation modeling in the educational process. The advantages and disadvantages of this approach in teaching a foreign language are noted.
