The article is devoted to the typology of orthodox book that established in line with Russian literature of 20th century. The substantial scene conflict between good and evil is typical for “the world of deep orderliness” of this kind book. In the multiline plot of “unfinished liturgy” the temporary disruption and harmony restore are also presented; all conflicts caused by the historical events of the 20th century. The connection of different conflicts types determines origanality of the genre. Just as in hagiographies of the first centuries Christianity, so as patericon novel, the hero’s spirit rises in bodily sufferings in 20th century. Righteous becomes confessor of the faith. Good and evil appear in the light of the Gospel. The composition and development of the plot related to the content of the service as described in the novel. Extraliterary function is similar to the medieval settings of the book, it’s to bring spiritual enlightenment and to build skills to choose between sin and virtue.
