The "toilet of Venus" plot: from O.Beardsley to Y.Y.Yurkun

The article is devoted to comparative analysis of the plot about toilet inunfinished novel by English graph Nouveau "Under the hill, or the Story ofVenus and Tannhauser" Aubrey Beardsley and in the story "The Game andthe Player" by Yuri Yurkun, who was Russian writer and artist. There isstylistic and motivic proximity coming from Romanticism of the two au-thors. The difference of the two authors is an aestheticism (Beardsley) andan emotionalism (Yurkun).
