The article was created in order to consider the relevance of using a story-role-playing game as a means of early career guidance for older preschool children. When studying the theoretical material, it was determined that the early career guidance of older preschool children is mentioned in a number of regulatory documents. One of the vectors of work specified in the Federal Educational Program of preschool Education is "Social and communicative development", aimed at forming a positive attitude towards work in a child. In accordance with the target guidelines, early career guidance of pupils is an important task of professional education at the stage of completion of preschool childhood. Story-role-playing games play an important role in the process of early career guidance for older preschool children. This article examines the mechanisms of the impact of story-role-playing games on the formation of children's ideas about professions, as well as the development of social skills and readiness for interaction in the future. The possibilities of creating a play space in which children can not only learn different professions, but also practice professional actions, which contributes to a deeper understanding of their role in society, are discussed. The emphasis is on how such games help children to consciously approach the choice of a future profession, developing their curiosity and interest in the adult world.
