The article deals with plot organization of German exile novel. Researchmaterial includes novels by E.M. Remarque, L. Feuchtwanger, K. Mann.The author of the article considers the category of event and stresses that ithas the same character as in the cyclic types of plot: an event is crossing aborderline between valuably different space zones. Comparison of the exilenovel's plot with the cyclic one allows to find some differences in the wayshow the plot complex of compensation is organized in the exile space. Todescribe these differences a new concept “catharsis plot” is proposed.
