Investigative activity: problems to solve them, prospects of development

The article deals with the legal status of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. Its place in the system of public authorities is investigated. The problems of the relationship between the investigator and the Prosecutor's office during the preliminary investigation are analyzed. The necessity of improving the existing regulatory framework is identified and justified.
