The word of the editor in chief

The following text is about the mission of the updated version of the scientific journal «Volga Region Pedagogical Search», its concepts and topics. The text underlines the importance of researching socially significant opportunities of Pedagogy, searching for ways to increase the educational potential of educational organizations and children-adult communities, and developing a methodology for micro-changes. The task of future research is determined. It is a comprehensive study of the possibilities of Pedagogy as a resource of positive social change, raising the level of social confidence. The author points out the distinctive features of the updated version of the journal: an emphasis on the publication of experimental results and a focus on identifying the interdependencies between the development of social institutions and the institution of education itself. Taking into consideration the definition of rationality as the orderliness, coherence of not only knowledge, but also general ideas, values, norms and rules, goal-oriented activities and internally integral experience, future authors of the journal (historians, philologists, teachers) are invited to identify rationality not only in scientific discourses, but also in the artistic, imperative and evaluative, common types of knowledge, as well as in practices of all kinds.
