We expose two examples of iconic elements in Lermontov’s works (biblical subtext in “There are certain phrases …” and anagram and bilingual interference in “Fairy tale for children”) that are connected with visual realization of word. In both cases, these elements have a character of auto- meta description and aimed at relation between text and audience that percepts it. We also point out here some structural analogy between these features and peculiarities in the way Lermontov himself read his “Stoss” in the Rostopchina’s circle. As a result, we reveal common features in different works in what concerns the structural relation between the contents and metatext elements. One is lead to pose the question about such interrelations in the Lermontov’s poetics as a whole.
