Relevance. Inflammatory pseudopolyps of the colon form as a result of alternating phases of epithelial erosion and regeneration on the background of a long-standing inflammatory process. Pseudopolyposis can be complicated by intestinal obstruction, intussusception or gastrointestinal bleeding, but the most important in clinical practice in this nosology is false positive endoscopic diagnosis "in favor" of malignant tumors. Also, patients with pseudopolyposis are referred to the group of intermediate risk for development of colorectal cancer that determines necessity of regular endoscopic control in this category of patients. Key points. The article presents a short review and medical history of a patient with local pseudopolyposis. Treatment tactics was determined by the individual characteristics of the course of the disease. The final diagnosis was established due to pathomorphological examination. Conclusions. Regular colonoscopic examination and follow-up of patients with an inflammatory bowel disease should be considered to avoid life-threatening complications.
