«Camoeracensis acrotismus» is the second and revised edition of Giordano Bruno's «Centum et viginti articuli de natura et mundo adversus peripateticos», and his principal anti-Aristotelian work. The publication serves as an introduction to the first annotated translation of selected excerpts from «Camoeracensis acrotismus» into Russian from the original Latin, specifically including Bruno’s first thesis, «On the subject matter of natural science». The introductory article outlines the history of the creation of the «Camoeracensis acrotismus», highlights the textual differences between «Centum et viginti articuli» and «Camoeracensis acrotismus», discusses the issue of the title of the latter work, and provides a history of modern editions and translations of both texts, along with a survey of the relevant scholarship. Particular attention is paid to a discussion of the key philosophical terms of the text, notably scientia – what Bruno understood by «science» and its subject matter.
