In recent years, the professional activity of police officers in the Russian Federation has been carried out in a complex criminal situation and in conditions of violent and aggressive behavior of criminals. In order to solve complex and responsible tasks in such conditions, certain requirements are imposed on the employees of the Department of Internal Affairs, their training and advanced training, as well as their knowledge, skills and professional abilities, which, on the one hand, are as close as possible to real practice, on the other - reliable and effective. Successful work of police officers, maintaining public order and confronting criminals require not only legal training, but also readiness to conduct hand - to - hand combat and effectively use service weapons. In addition, service in the authorities requires considerable spiritual and physical strength from the police. The importance of service - applied physical training of police officers is stated in numerous regulatory legal documents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. However, the level of preparedness of employees largely depends on the employees themselves, who have the motivation to engage in independent physical education and sports. The importance of physical culture and sports in the law enforcement system is determined primarily by the strengthening of health and high - quality professional training of each employee.
