Introduction. Article 2 from the cycle «Service and Professional Education of Cadets and Trainees of Educational Organizations of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in conditions of Organized Leisure» focuses on cinematography as a multifunctional type of art, which has a comprehensive impact on the representative systems of a viewer. The goal is to specify the organization and viewer problems that students face in group watching of films, and the forms, methods of overcoming them with the help of the subjects of education. The paper summarizes the experience of forming a viewer culture in conditions of organized leisure. Materials and Methods. The author used theoretical analysis of scientific sources on the problem of the research and maps of observation of the cadets’ behavior when watching a movie and during post-reflexive conversations. Results and Discussion. A questionnaire of film pedagogical competences was developed. It has been proven that it is necessary to avoid sporadically organized movie watching in the educational environment. The role of the initiative group among educational entities in choosing high-artistic film material, in the gradual support of film-viewer students is emphasized. Conclusions. The revealed fact of initially low level of a viewer’s culture of a significant part of students requires systematic, appropriate assistance from educational subjects, attention to the content aspects of films, observance of ethical norms of behavior, possible appeal to the images of film characters in subsequent processes of training, professionalization.
