Mixed organizational form of additional inclusive education: project “Mom, dad and me are an extreme family”

The issues of socialization of children with disabilities who are included in various social groups and educational classes are of utter importance. However, there are some problems unsolved. One of the problems is the task of creating a favorable psychological climate in the family, which is the closest small social group for the child, where his socialization takes place. At school, insufficient attention is paid to the physical and mental components of the child's health with disabilities. If a child with disabilities is brought up in a family, his guardians are often focused only on his comprehensive development, which is also a problem. Often, parents do not find time, material and emotional resources to manage their own development. For neurotypical siblings of children with disabilities, the situation is emotionally difficult. They may experience jealousy, shame, guilt. In this regard, we have the goal of a comprehensive social, physical and mental development of children with disabilities and their family members using innovative forms of inclusive education. The program also involves emotional support for all the family members that have a child with disabilities. To achieve the goal the project “Mom, dad, and me are an extreme family” is offered. The implemented project allowed to increase the level of cohesion and to improve the emotional state of family members raising children with disabilities; to develop the physical and social skills of children and adults. The proposed innovative form of education focuses on the socialization and health promotion of children with disabilities and their families in a favorable psychological environment, increases children's self-confidence in new social situations, thus, compensating for the shortcomings of inclusive school education. It eliminates the limitations caused by the need to raise a “special” child.
