SMS messages and correspondence in messengers as evidence in civil proceedings

Based on the analysis of the provisions of the civil, civil procedural legislation of the Russian Federation and the opinions of researchers, the article considers SMS messages and correspondence in instant messengers as evidence in civil proceedings. The author has characterized the main criteria of electronic correspondence and messages. In connection with the study of this area, existing problems of a theoretical and applied nature were found and identified.
