Events in Jar-Belokan in the first third of the 18th century in the information of Bedreddinzade Ali Bay and Malla Muhammad Al-Jari

This article focuses on a comparative historical analysis of the information of the authors of two historical works of the 18th century, namely “Kaime” Bedreddinzade Ali Bey and “Jar Salname” (“Jar Chronicle”), Malla Muhammad al-Jari. Bedreddinzade Ali Bey was an official of the highest rank of the administrative unit of Zarushad in the Kars province of the Ottoman Empire. Malla Muhammad al-Jari in the middle of the 18th century was the religious leader (qadi) of the Jaro-Belokan societies. The work of Bedreddinzade Ali Bey “Kaime” is information about the Persian state, prepared on behalf of the Supreme Council of the Ottoman Empire. “Jar Salname” covers the events in the Jaro-Belokan zone, describes the political and economic relations of the peoples of the Eastern Transcaucasia with the societies of southern and southwestern Dagestan. The purpose of this article is a comparative historical analysis of the information contained in the historical sources of the 18th century. The authors of these works are eyewitnesses of those events and thanks to their information we have the opportunity to identify important historical facts of the first third of the 18th century, which is characterized by popular uprisings, raids, internecine wars in the context of the struggle of three powers - the Ottoman Empire, Shah's Persia and the Russian state.
