The subject of this study is the correlation between the concepts of “socialization” and “socializ-edness” in the theoretical framework of social science. Socializedness is defined as the result of successful social-ization. This article specifically focuses on labor activity as a distinct area of socialization. The research is carried out by the method of comparative analysis of classical (R. Merton, T. Parsons, I.S. Kohn) and modern (V.A. Yadov, A.G. Zdravomyslov, G. Collins, I.V. Solodnikova) approaches to the definition of the essence and content of both socialization and the state of socializedness. The study confirmed the special role of professional ethics in the socialization of an individual, particularly during mature adulthood. The necessity to study not only the socialization of age groups, but also groups by professions, including new ones, as they add virtual socialization to labor social-ization was substantiated. The concept of meta-skills of socialization is introduced. The definition of socializedness as the formed ability to understand the public demand and the skill of forming participation in collective coexistence is proposed. The scheme of socialization with an emphasis on the role of work is developed, the necessity of interpreting the studied concepts through economic practice is substantiated. The results of the study can be applied in the operationalization of the concepts of “socialization” and “socializedness”.
