Social engagement of learners as an opportunity to ensure a psychological safety educational environment

The paper presents the results of an analysis of the relationship between various forms of social activity of learners and the level of psychological safety of the educational environment. Given the high social significance of the problem of increasing the level of safety of the educational environment, the paper considers various forms of social activity of students as an instrument for diagnosing and increasing the level of psychological safety of the educational environment. It was found that not all forms of social activity of students have a beneficial effect on the level of safety of the educational environment. The characteristics of a psychologically safe educational environment, contributing to the social activity of students, are highlighted. The study involved 94 respondents. Average age 15.5 years (52% female). The study used scales aimed at measuring various types of social activity (RM Shamionov, MV Grigorieva, IV Arendachuk and others) and the questionnaire “Psychological safety of the educational environment of the school” (IA Baeva). It is concluded that socio-political, educational-developmental, subcultural and leisure activities of the learners increase the level of psychological safety of the educational environment in various components. Radical-protest activity leads to a lowering of the analyzed level in the aspect of protection against psychological violence in interactions with teaching staff and administration.
