The article examines the issue of social security and spiritual sovereignty in modern Russian society. This complex issue is becoming increasingly pressing, as risk factors and threat sources are rapidly growing, encompassing all areas of society and social activity. Over the past decade, potential and actual threats aimed at undermining statehood, social integrity, and the social and spiritual identity of the subject have changed dramatically. The sources and types of risks and threats have evolved, with various forms of mental influence and manipulation of public and individual consciousness becoming prevalent. Through destructive influence and the devaluation of spiritual values, the civic, ethnic, social, cultural, and spiritual identity of the social subject is eroded. Challenges and threats to state sovereignty are closely linked to the sociocultural and spiritual security of the social subject and its mental subjectivity. The growth of mental risks and threats to the identity of the social subject and society leads to the loss of the sociocultural and spiritual unity of the population and gives rise to risks and threats to state security and its sovereignty. Threats to Russian statehood are not only challenges associated with a change in the political regime, but also challenges to Russia’s civilizational identity and spiritual sovereignty.
