The article discusses the issues related to the trajectories and types of routinization of modern Russian society in the context of nonlinear social and cultural dynamics. The paper notes that social entropy has become the background of contemporary everyday life, and it is interpreted by the author as a measure of the deviation of social reality and social system from the relatively standard state. The article identifies that in Russian reality the trajectories of social routinization correlate with the dynamics of the present dependence on the Soviet-era past and become a social restoration. The author concludes that focus on the past is an ineffective way to solve the challenges related to the formation of civil society and law-governed state and the transition to innovative economy and Russian modernization breakthrough.
