Socio-economic features of labor potential in Siberian regions

The article examines the pattern of population reproduction in the regions of Siberia over a twenty-year period. The focus is on the causes of growth and decline in the number of inhabitants in the context of sixteen regions. The demographic structure analyzes changes in the percentages of the three groups of the population by employability. Significant territorial differentiation of growth in the working-age population from 5.3 % to a decrease of 26 % was revealed. Based on several demographic indicators, a typology of Siberian regions in terms of favorable labor potential development is conducted. Territories with the most, less and least suitable conditions for this are allocated. The key factors determining the prospects for demographic development in the regions are analyzed: long-term traditional processes of population reproduction, migration attractiveness of resource regions, population replacement rates. In conclusion, the above factors play a pivotal role in the formation of socio-economic features of the labor potential of Siberia.
