Socio-economic risks of the gig economy and its perception by Russian youth

The article examines the phenomenon of the gig economy as a rapidly growing segment of platform employment in Russia. Based on the analysis of statistical data, the market growth dynamics, the volumes of key regions, and the scale of self-employed involvement are demonstrated. Central attention is paid to the analysis of the socio-economic and legal deficits of the gig model, particularly the lack of guarantees and security for its participants. The article presents the results of a study on the attitude of Russian youth towards gig employment as potential workers in the sector. The obtained results can be used to develop a balanced strategy for regulating platform employment, aimed at reducing risks and ensuring the sustainable development of this economic sector.
