The article deals with the problem of socio-professional activity of teachers. Based on the results of the monitoring of the economic status and social well-being of the teachers of Vologda region conducted by Vologda Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, social and leisure activity of teachers, as well as development activities has been evaluated. Relying on the sociological data, the author concludes that socio-professional activity of teachers is not high enough, requiring purposeful work in this direction.
