The author presents the problem of socio-psychological concepts of family roles in full and one-parent families. An incorrect idea of family roles can affect the perception of the entire role structure of the family, as well as carry an unconscious undesirable burden on one of the family members in the absence of another. It is important to study the perception of the roles of mother, grandmother, daughter and granddaughter in women who grew up in full and one-parent extended families, in order to identify the link between perceptions about roles with an inner sense of loneliness in adulthood. Based on the results of the study of four groups of respondents (unmarried women whose mothers are married, grandmothers are married; unmarried women whose mothers are not married, grandmother is not married; married women whose mothers are married, grandmothers are married; married women whose mothers are not married, grandmother is not married), the peculiarities of social perceptions of roles and their impact on unwanted female loneliness in adulthood in the context of intergenerational relationships between women of the same family were revealed.
