Social purpose of digitization of criminal proceedings

The article is devoted to the analysis of the social component of the digital transformation of criminal proceedings. The author comes to the conclusion that the rapid penetration of digital technologies into various spheres of human life creates all the conditions for strengthening the role of civil society institutions in ensuring human and civil rights and freedoms, as well as suppressing illegal behavior, including on the part of government bodies and officials persons This correlates with the most important task of the state to use technological capabilities for the benefit of solving the problems of ensuring a balance of interests of the individual, society and the state, including in the field of criminal proceedings, establishing control over crime, and strengthening public confidence in the existing law enforcement system. In this context, the author sees the important role of transparency, since it is through it that the trust of society and the state is ensured, and ways of finding a balance between the interests of the individual and the state in the process of investigation and consideration of criminal cases.
