Purpose: the publication is devoted to the study of the social aspect of the phenomenon of loyalty to the service of the police to their Fatherland. Considering the subject area of a civil servant's loyalty to duty and his country, the authors, based on individual conceptual conclusions of the aesthetic teachings of G. Hegel, evaluate the area of professional activity of police personnel from the position of its compliance with the meaning of moral virtue, based on the aesthetics of the attitude of each police officer to the implementation of his social mission, the quintessence of which is maintaining an adequate level of public safety. The aesthetically verified actions of each police officer in the implementation of his official tasks and his demonstration of loyalty to his state predetermine not only public trust in the law enforcement officer, but also give the policeman the status of a tuning fork, against which citizens also check their patriotic spirit for faithful service to their country. The above determined the need for a targeted substantiation of the theme of the police’s loyalty to their Fatherland, taking into account the consideration of this problem by the outstanding thinker G. Hegel. In addition, the article presents the author’s understanding of the definitions of «aesthetic taste of a police officer» and «loyalty in serving the police to their Fatherland».
