The social well-being of residents of Buryatia (according to sociological research data from 2018-2019)

The author considers the main indicators of social well-being of the population of the Republic of Buryatia related to life satisfaction and perception of future prospects. It is noted that according to many indicators of the rating of socio-economic development of the subjects of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Buryatia is in the last ten (quality of life, income, transport, medical care, etc.). That is, there are long-standing accumulated problems. The conclusion is made about the growth of migration flows from the Republic against the background of unfavorable indicators of socio-economic development. There is a contradiction between the mood of optimism among the population, which is typical for Russian regions, due to the unpretentious life strategies and the leadership of the Republic in various anti-ratings of the quality of life among the subjects of the Russian Federation. Recommendations are formulated to change the situation for the better, aimed at improving the level and quality of life, solving problems of a socio-economic nature, overcoming infrastructure and spatial polarization of the territory's development. The author says that the efforts and actions of the local population aimed at positive changes in the region are important.
