This high-risk situation correlates with the international conflicts which appear due to the growth of ethnic migration flows. Due to geographic, socio-demographic and economic reasons, ethnic and labour migration are the main types of migration to the Volgograd region. On the one hand, they led to the need for migration flows data in connection with the workforce lack and population emigration from the region, and, on the other hand, the complexity of adaptation and integration processes in connection with prevailing of temporary life strategies of migrants coming for seasonal work and earnings. These processes create a situation of uncertainty and form new challenges for the social system of the region. The author’s attention is focused on the strategic directions of ensuring national and regional security. These directions include migration risks management; rejection of “xenophobic” discourse; focus on the positive migration aspects which are inevitable in the modern interconnected world; taking into account the historical, demographic, social and economic development. This all makes it possible to form the united society acting as the provider of the international conflicts prevention.
