The article is devoted to the sociological study of pregnant women. Based on the survey, a social portrait of a pregnant woman in the city of Khanty-Mansiysk has been formed, which allows to see the heterogeneity of this group in the most comprehensive way and determine the feasibility of the proposed social support measures. The socio-demographic composition of this category has been revealed, and three types of pregnant women have been identified on the basis of social risk factors: women with no social risk factors - socially advantaged pregnant women; women with indirect risk factors for pregnancy and childbirth - pregnant women in the risk zone of social disadvantage; women with social risk factors - socially disadvantaged pregnant women. The demographic policy of the state is focused on economic support measures, which are very important for families of the second and third groups in the current socio-economic conditions, but the financial conditions of the family are not always decisive for the families of the first group.
