Analyzes the features of the social behavior of Bishkek city residents based on empirical interviews. The aim of the study is to identify typical social trends and mental characteristics in the daily lives of urban dwellers from a sociological perspective. The study revealed the following phenomena: a tendency not to plan for the future and to "live for today," limited use of urban space, weak social ties, a low level of material ambitions, and a desire not to leave the comfort zone. Differences in the life strategies of internal migrants from rural areas and young people born and raised in the city were also noted. The article utilizes theoretical frameworks such as the theories of Anthony Giddens, Pierre Bourdieu, and Ronald Inglehart, and the obtained data are interpreted through sociological concepts. The results of the study indicate the relevance of such problems in the public mentality of urban residents as passivity and social isolation.
