The socio-cultural specificity of science in French philosophy

The article analyses the role of French philosophy in the study of sociocultural features of science. The author comes to the conclusion that definition of the so-cio-cultural specificity of science was not formulated as an independent problem in the history of French philosophy. The sustainable authority of the classical philosophy for a long time determined a universal nature of scientific knowledge and processes of its creation.
