The article shows the possibilities of using the principles and methods of the theory of intertextuality in the analysis of the sociocultural space of the national state. The introductory part is devoted to the consideration of approaches to the interpretation of the terms “intertextuality” and “intertext”, which have a multivariate meaning depending on the scientific discipline (literary criticism, semiotics, etc.). The authors proceed from the idea that intertextuality is one of the most important categories of the text, and its specific characteristic is the focus on building the relationship of each text with other texts, thanks to their inherent signsymbolic systems. It is further emphasized that extrapolating the principles of this approach to the analysis of the sociocultural space of the national state, considered as a text/metatext, is heuristic, since it allows us to identify the mechanism of interaction between the texts that make up its (space) ethnoand regional cultures, their inherent semiotic systems, to establish the nature and results of their mutual influence. The authors note that when using this methodological focus, the goal is not so much to identify communication participants, as to determine the quality of relationships and the causes of the interdependence of intertextual and intersemiotic systems. Based on the method of analyzing the texts of M. B. Gasparov, who indicated motive and trace as text generating elements, the article further examines national language and symbols/ ideas, religious factor and cultural memory. In conclusion, it is concluded that the interpretation of the sociocultural space of the national state as a text immediately sets specific goals and tasks for the researcher related to the identification of its linguistic features, form and structure, the specifics of the rhetoric used, which allows you to concentrate only on these aspects, without taking the study aside.
