Sociological analysis of digital consumption in childhood

In modern society, children are increasingly using digital devices and the Internet, which can have both positive and negative consequences for their development. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that the article presents the results of an independent author’s sociological study of 2023 dedicated to the digital consumption of children under 11 years of age. The study showed that most children start using digital devices from an early age. Children prefer to watch cartoons, videos on the Internet and play electronic games. Slightly less than 20 % of modern families comply with the recommended norms of one-time viewing of content by children. As a result, it was concluded that familiarization with electronic information devices has become an integral practice of raising children, and therefore the formation of a culture of healthy and conscious digital consumption in the younger generation is especially relevant.
