A sociological analysis of the key development issues of the social potential in a region (by a case study of the Republic of Bashkortostan)

The study presents a comprehensive analysis of the main development areas and problems of the social potential in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Based on the experts' opinion, the positive and negative factors in the capacity building are determined, the strengths and weaknesses of its development in the field of education, science, culture, labor, and employment are noted. In particular, the author reveals the insufficiently high quality of curricula, the low availability of postgraduate education, the ineffective measures taken to promote employment, the imperfect social and demographic development programs, and the high degree of cultural devaluation. The results of the analysis provide a qualitative assessment of the effective/ineffective fulfillment of the social potential in the region and identify its development trends in the short and long term.
