Sociological analysis of processes of the development of patriotism in Russia

The article discusses the issue related to the development of a phenomenon of patriotism in Russia. The authors study the main characteristics of the concept of patriotism; highlight the composition of the elements included in the phenomenon under consideration. The paper describes the key stages of the development of patriotism in Russia. Moreover, the origin of patriotism coincides with the first facts of the emergence of statehood, which suggests that stable functioning of the state is impossible without the concept in question. An important place in the article is given to the analysis of the process of patriotic education, which is a set of systematic actions aimed at the formation of specific value orientations and attitudes in the minds of individuals. The authors give a number of recommendations that could contribute to improving the mechanism of patriotic education in Russia.
