The sociological dimension of victimization on public transport in Moscow

The article discusses the importance of measuring victimization on public transport in Moscow. It is emphasized that sociological surveys are an effective tool in obtaining information about the state and characteristics of victimization, and due to the lack of data from integrated official statistics on victimization on public transport in Moscow, they are the only way to study and measure it. The article provides a retrospective analysis of studies that have been conducted on the study of victimization in transport by various sociological services, and draws attention to the insufficiency of obtaining victimological information as a result of sociological research currently being conducted. The author's indicators of victimization are proposed, which were applied during the author's sociological research aimed at obtaining characteristics of victimization on public transport in Moscow, the results of which showed that victimization is victimogenic and latent.
